Armando Montelongo grew up in San Antonio with his brother David Montelongo. His father owned a construction business.

However, the construction business went down during the real estate recession in the U.S.

Armando and his family had to rely on food stamps to survive. He dropped out of high school to work supporting the family.

Montelongo has not disclosed the detail of his real estate education. He, however, provides the story of his life living in the garage of his in-laws to buying the first distressed home.

Armando Montelongo was down to his luck. He lost his home to foreclosure. He and his family had to live in the garage of his in-laws.
